DJ Switch arrested in Lagos.(Source Lindaikeji's blog)

Popular DJ Obianuju Catherine Udeh aka DJ Switch has been arrested by the police in Lagos and is currently being taken to the magistrate court in Eti Osa.

According to a police source who spoke to LIB, DJ Switch visited the police in Elemoro, Ajah on Monday, April 15 to complain about a man who allegedly defrauded her. According to the police, the man was arrested on the same day and has been in police custody.

The police source told LIB that DJ Switch was then invited on Wednesday, April 17, to know if she wanted the suspect to be charged to court or for him to be released on bail as it is against the law to detain an accused for more than 48 hours. The source disclosed that DJ Switch insisted that the only thing she wanted was for the accused to make an apology which she would record and post online, but the accused bluntly refused. The police then settled to take the matter to court since both parties were not bulging.

The police source said that while the officers were about to drive out with the accused to court, DJ Switch allegedly used her vehicle to block the entrance of the station and allegedly assaulted the female officers attached to the case. She was then arrested for obstructing police while on duty, resisting arrest as well as assaulting police officers. The accused was also taken to court and was remanded in prison custody.

DJ Switch is currently on her way to the Magistrate court in Eti-Osa where she will be arraigned for allegedly obstructing police officers while on duty, resisting arrest and assaulting police officers.

Can she use her car to block Canadian Police officers? People just think they can behave anyhow in Naija. The expression is, "not budging". I wonder why every Nigerian news outlet calls it "bulging". Not that I expect blog writers to do better. It was a pet peeve of mine with Punch newspapers years ago before I left the country. Sure they are still writing "not bulging" all over their newspapers.

i guess this would have been much better : The source disclosed that DJ Switch remained firm in her demand for an apology from the accused, which she intended to record and post online. However, the accused categorically declined. Given the impasse, the police decided to escalate the matter to court as neither party showed signs of compromise.

It is so unfortunate that Nigerians who have significant social media followers become 'super important' in their view and misbehave. No one is above the law.

i remember when president Jonathan was appealing to the governors to do their jobs and k i l l people who have been sentenced to death. The holding cells were becoming too full. Maybe that has been done and they now have spaces because all these arrests that is taking place is next level

Attention seeking idiot. She had created the impression that the Nigerian government was after her and will arrest her anytime she enters Naija, she's unhappy that she came into the country and no one noticed, all this drama is to make her presence in the country known.
