‘Why Man City Lost 2-0 To Liverpool’ – Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has attributed his team’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool in the Premier League to a lack of pace in attack and losing key duels.

Speaking after the match on Sunday, Guardiola admitted, “Liverpool were stronger in the duels, and we lacked pace through the middle.”

Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah scored for Liverpool, securing all three points for the Reds. Despite City’s efforts, they struggled to create significant chances during the match.

The defeat leaves Manchester City 11 points behind league leaders Arne Slot’s team.

Speaking after the game, Guardiola said:

“We didn’t think we can lose one game, two games. Losing six or seven is wow, it is a lot, but it is what it is, accept it.”

“But we don’t have the pace in the middle right now and they [Liverpool] are stronger in the duels and you have to survive with the ball.”

“We’re not good in transitions over 30-40 metres compared to them. We had to adapt and we did it. I cannot forget which players I have.”
